Lexington Day 2

Callie's Sorority House

Snapchat from the Village Idiot

Day two of visiting my sister in Lexington was so much fun (outfit details here)! We got  a late start to the day and had lunch and margaritas at Local Taco. We go every time we are in town... it has delicious Mexican food. The weather was so beautiful so it was the perfect time to have a long lunch outside.

After Local Taco, we walked around her campus. It's so beautiful and it didn't hurt that the day was perfect, too. We made a pit stop into her sorority house which is as cute as can be and then went back to her apartment to relax and get ready for dinner... in between there was a pit stop to Liquor Barn. It's such a cool place. It's a giant warehouse full of any type of wine and liquor you can imagine. They had so many different champagnes and french roses to choose from, I was in heaven.

Then we headed to the Village Idiot in downtown Lexington for a late dinner. We've gone before and love it. It also has a neat atmosphere. Callie got their housemade sangria and me, champagne. They had french fries with a million different dipping sauces. Soooo delish. As we were walking to the car, I met Vaughn, a Summer Wind reader! She was as sweet as can be and I am so glad she stopped and said hi!

Then, it was off to Tin Roof and Two Keys with Peyton and Callie. We met up with my friend, Sarah, and had a great time. If you're ever in Kentucky, I definitely recommend checking out Local Taco and the Village Idiot. two great places! Have a fabulous day!

White Peplum + Swanky Belts

Peplum Top c/o // Belt c/o  // Denim
Speedy 30// Bracelets c/o // Sunglasses
This peplum top could not be more perfect. It is such an easy to wear, closet staple. It's a good alternative to a classic white blouse. It's stretchy cotton, but lays very nicely. I was sent this belt from Swanky Belts, and immediately thought to pair the peplum and belt together. I saw it styled as a regular belt through the pant loops on the site, but this belt is so gorgeous, I wanted to show it off. If you are looking for a show stopping piece, then this belt is definitely it. Not to mention, it is high quality and the actual belt is buttery soft leather.
What I love most about this outfit is that it is a perfect spring outfit. I wore this to dinner and a movie and just brought along a cashmere wrap to keep warm in the theater. I felt put together enough for dinner, but comfortable enough to sit through a movie. Have a fabulous day!

Dallas Day 1

Dallas was so much fun! I worked a half day and flew in Thursday evening. The flight was pretty quick and easy! I grabbed an uber and went to check into the Joule which is in downtown Dallas, conveniently right next door to Neiman Marcus ;).

Above is what I wore on my flight. I've worn these jeans so many times (as you can tell from how many times I've featured them). I know distressed/ripped jeans aren't for everyone, but if they are your thing, I highly recommend them. When I wear them, I feel so comfortable, but put together. Also, size 1 to 2 sizes down. I am wearing a 25 but usually wear a 27 in denim.

And I just found my Mansur Gavriel tote is finally available for purchase here (act fast if you want one, they sell out almost immediately). It's a splurge, but this is hands down my favorite bag that I own. It's the perfect size, very well made and the bright red interior makes everything so easy to find. Obsessed.

Luggage: small// medium// large

I got this luggage a few months ago and it's been life changing. Before I didn't have the spinner wheels and I didn't think I was missing out on much, but I was so so wrong. It makes traveling a million times easier. I wouldn't consider this luggage super high quality, but it is definitely durable enough to withstand being thrown around. The large is pictured above and I never find myself with it stuffed too full!

When I get to hotel rooms, I immediately unpack and stow away my suitcase. It makes me feel more organized and at home. I also steamed/ironed and hung items so I wouldn't have to do that right before I got dressed.

There was a Stuart Weitzman party Thursday night, but with a later flight and traffic from the airport to the hotel, I missed it, so I decided to call it an early night and ordered room service and watched Scandal. I'd call that a nice relaxing night by my standards. Have a fabulous day!

Bow Back Cocktail Dress Under $60

bow back cocktail dress under $60

Bow dress with low back

chanel chocolate bar bag in black

juniors nordstrom bow dress

preppy bow back cocktail dress

cocktail dresses for under $100
Bow Back Cocktail Dress (under$60) // Black pumps (under $80)
5 Strand Pearl Necklace // Chanel Bag (less pricey version here)
Cable Ring// Lip Color  (crushed cherry)

This dress was one of those things, where I was just browsing around, and stumbled upon it. I didn't really need a cocktail dress, but for under $60, I couldn't resist. As soon as I tried it on, I was sold (I'm wearing a size medium for reference). I was hesitant of the quality, but honestly, the quality for the price is excellent. I didn't have to have it tailored at all, which is always appreciated.

I'm happy I did scoop it up, though, because the Like to Know It first birthday party was in Dallas this weekend and it was the perfect occasion for me to throw this on. Not to mention, this dress was super easy to pack. It barely wrinkled in my suitcase and I only had to do minor touch ups with a steamer once I was able to hang it up.

The party was located on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge which provided stunning, sweeping views of the Dallas city skyline. The bridge was constructed by famed architect, Santiago Calatrava. If you are not familiar with Calatrava's work, it is incredible. Definitely give it a Google if you have a few minutes! This was my first time in Texas and I have to say, I definitely give it a thumbs up! More to come about the weekend soon!

Also, thanks to Grace for taking these photos-- she's the best photographer! If you haven't checked out her blog, I recommend it! Have a fabulous day!

Saturday Shopping

I'm in Dallas this weekend hanging out with a bunch of bloggers, so I won't get to do much shopping this weekend. But scroll through to see what I've been loving. Some of the items I've packed with me and taken to Dallas to wear! Have a fabulous day!

Bright Printed Eyelet Sundress

Dress// 55th Anniversary Sandals  c/o
Sunglasses// Cashmere Wrap

This dress is by far one of my most favorite pieces that I added to my spring/summer wardrobe. It's a little on the pricey side for an eyelet dress, but so worth it in my opinion. This is one of those dresses where I had people stopping me and asking me where I got my dress. Not to mention, it is effortless. It's one of those pieces you can throw on when it is super hot, or you are in a rush and instantly look like you made a lot of effort.

I wore this dress while I was visiting my sister, Callie, in Kentucky (see last post here). She goes to UK. On Friday, we got up, headed to Starbucks, then went for lunch and toured the campus. These photos were taken while walking around campus.. isn't the scenery beautiful? I was so thankful that it was 75 and sunny all weekend!

I even wore this outfit to dinner and out to the bars later that night but with wedges. I was so glad to have been able to meet up with my vlogger friend, Sarah! I hadn't seen her since January and she is moving to LA very soon, so it was so good to catch up with her... there may have been a Kentucky blue colored 'John Wall' shot in there somewhere for good measure ;).  The cashmere wrap always comes in handy and luckily, this actually matched perfectly. FYI, the olive green color is on sale for $49!! Have a fabulous day!

Cashmere Tee + Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf

Jack Roger Sandals (on sale for $88!) // Sunglasses

There is nothing I love more than cashmere, Lilly Pulitzer murfee scarves, and white pants. So basically, this outfit is one of my favorites and definitely a go-to for me. Pittsburgh has been rather warm lately, but just in the past day or two, we've caught a cold spell. I wore the above outfit on a beautiful sunny and warm Saturday, however, I actually just re-wore this cashmere tee yesterday when there were snow flurries (yes, you heard that right).

There's something so simple but luxe about a cashmere tee and the quality on this one is great. I plan on wearing it with linen shorts as the weather (hopefully) warms back up again! My tip for cashmere tees? There are a ton of fun colors, but since they are pricey, buying them in neutrals is key for getting more wear!

Right now, I am flying down to Dallas, so I am hoping you'll follow along with me on Instagram and Snapchat (@SummerWind41490). Have a fabulous day!

Saul Good: Lexington Kentucky

Silk Scarf, from Italy (similar)

via Snapchat: @SummerWind4190

I was in Lexington, Kentucky last week to visit my sister, Callie, and when we got there on Thursday night, we had a casual dinner at Saul Good right downtown. It was delicious and such a neat, eclectic atmosphere.

I had a cobb salad, but the best part? The hot brown pizza. Yes, you read that right. It was so delicious, and I'm glad my sister forced me to eat a slice! It paired nicely with the glass of bubbly we both had ;)

Since it was casual, I ended up wearing a cashmere t-shirt (the most comfortable thing in the world and 30% off right now!), my go-to white pants and Jacks. The outfit was too bland with just that, so I added a silk scarf for pizzaz. I've been loving silk scarves and really scarves in general lately. It's such an easy way to add color, depth, texture, etc. to any outfit! Have a fabulous day!
