Satin Bow Flats

I just had to share with you all my new satin bow ballet flats that I recently purchased at Talbots. They also had a hot pink color and I swooped that pair up as well! They are so comfortable and well made. I just had to snap a picture of my feet while in class for all of you too see! Here I am just wearing them with a pair of Miss sixty dark wash jeans and they added a dressier feel instantly!

Handbag of the Moment...

Recently I have been drawn to satchel handbags, I am in the market for a good quality leather handbag, and I just can't decide what I want. I originally planned on asking for the Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 for my birthday (in just 3 weeks!!), but there are so many fake Louis Vuittons out there that it makes the real thing a lot less special. Luckily, the government is really cracking down on fake merchandise. Here are some other options I am looking into purchasing... Let me know which one is your favorite!
Tory Burch Anna satchel in cognac, $465. A great classic bag, and with TB, you know you can count on quality. Plus I am loving this cognac color, this brown hue can work any time of the year.Brahmin Jacqueline tote, $295, A great price for a great looking handbag. It's not a satchel style which I don't mind because I love the look of this handbag. I would get it in tan I think.

Quilted Quarter Flap Lock Handbag, $498, LOVE this handbag. I have been eying it up for some time now, I just need to wait to see it in person to see if it's as beautiful as it is online.

Do you have any handbags on your wish list?! I'd love to know! Have a fabulous day!

Happy Friday everyone! I have some exciting news. Yesterday I got contacted by a reporter from the New York Times to interview me about Lisa Birnbach's upcoming book True Prep which is following in The Preppy Handbook's footsteps and about the preppy lifestyle. It was so exciting to be interviewed by such a well respected publication, hopefully I will be quoted in the article that is coming out in the near future!! Have a fabulous weekend!

Lucky Me!!

I have been meaning to post this for a while, I have just been so backed up with school that I haven't had the chance. Now I finally do! A while back I won a gorgeous necklace from Kristin Pearce! Her jewelry is absolutely FABULOUS! I won a pearl and gold necklace and it looks great with everything I wear! The wrapping was just adorable; the picture just doesn't do it justice. I took a picture on my blackberry so it's probably not the best quality, but I can't say enough wonderful things about her jewelry. So if you don't follow her blog, head on over and leave her a sweet comment, or be on the lookout for her new website!

And my other exciting news is that I won an amazing giveaway from Allison at Smart and Sassy with Sprinkles. What did I win you ask? A Kate Spade wristlet!!! I am one lucky girl! So thank you to both Kristin and Allison for these amazing surprises! And check out Allison's blog because she just did a really great post on how to wear blazers!
I hope you are all having a fabulous Tuesday!

Brooklynn Proulx

I recently saw The Time Traveler's Wife and fell in love with it. I also thought the girl that played the young Clare was the cutest thing ever! So I did a little research and her name is Brooklynn Proulx. She was also in Valentines Day which I have not seen yet. She played her part so well in The Time Traveler's Wife and she is only 11 years old! I can't wait to see more movies that she will be in in the future!
Have a fabulous Day!

Vintage No. 1

One bottle of this Vintage No. 1 beer found only in Copenhagen, will set you back $350. Of course, there are only 600 bottles so you better act fast...
Now in all reality, would you spend anywhere upwards $50 for any type of beer? I do love a good champagne, but beer?! No thanks, I'll pass on this one!

Kelley Proxmire

I love love love interior design. I think my love for it was established in 2005 when I spend 5 days at the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. I was only 15 at the time and absolutely amazed how so many colors, fabrics, and lighting could combine in so many different ways making every room unique and elegant without looking a bit tacky! I receive Architectural Digest in the mail and I spend countless hours perusing the pages and finding things I love. I even keep a folder with magazine clippings so when I am ready to decorate all of the rooms in my home that I can keep my ideas in order.
While perusing the internet in the interior design category, I came across an incredible interior designer. She is Kelley Proxmire. The way she adds a punch of color to any room is just amazing and if I could hire her to do my whole house, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. She is known for doing show houses; and from reading her profile, she started loving interior design as a child! You must head on over to her website and check out all of her designs; you are sure to find one that you love! Here are some of my favorites (pictures taken from her website):Here is a Rhode Island summer home that she designed. Her big color that she uses here is yellow but adds different shades of greens and pink to the mix. I am in LOVE with this house. It is probably my favorite one. You must click here to check out the rest of the home!
This is a master bedroom in NYC. I have to admit I wholeheartedly dislike the color brown, and try to avoid it if at all possible. In this room, I LOVE her use of brown. I would never think to paint my walls a deep brown shade, but she pulls it off with the peachy color on the best and in the fabrics. I also think the gold accents in the picture frame add a vintage-y feel, but also make it feel even more luxurious. I also feel as though these designs are not too impossible to achieve on your own. She only uses several colors which I think would make it easy to tie everything together.
I for some reason cannot get a picture of this simply amazing decorating but click here to view it. It is of a residence in Severn River, MD. My absolute favorite is the nautical themed/monogrammed bedroom!!!She once again does a dark wall! I would be very hesitant before I painted my walls such a dark shade but this room is FABULOUS! The clean lines work so well with the contrasting colors. I also love the three pictures she has in the corner of the room; no detail is left unnoticed! In other pictures of this room, there is a hidden TV inside of the bed posts!
Have you seen any of her other designs or have heard of Kelley Proxmire? Her work is my new obsession! Later this month I will be highlighting even more of my favorite interior designers and their designs! Please share your favorite interior designer and your favorite colors to work with for a room!

Best Makeup Product ever!!!

I am all about having clear, healthy looking skin! I have used so many different products in the past to make my skin as clear as possibly. I love love love the Sephora brand buildable cover complexion kit! My sister has the entire kit and I have used it when I am having bad skin days. However I do not like putting much make up on daily, so her routine is a little much for me. Within the kit you get the buildable cover concealer in medium. It is the BEST concealer I have ever used. I have tried everything from expensive brands, to organic, to drugstore brands and this does the trick without a flaw! Anything on your face, it can cover up; whether it is a zit, blemish, skin discoloration, under eye circles, anything!! I use it all of the time and would recommend this product to anyone. They don't have the actual buildable cover concealer for sale on its own online, but in the store they have it and it is $16 which is a great price. I love it so much I would even be willing to spend more than that! I have been using this concealer since December everyday and it has yet to run out on me. I also bought one as a back up in case I lose it or run out!
Have any of you ever tried this product? What is your favorite concealer that you use? Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

(I am not paid to write this review, I have purchased this on my own and just love it!)

It's 5 O'Clock somwehere!

Today marks the start of my spring break!!! I am sad to say I am not going somewhere warm, but I do hope to hit the slopes sometime this week; it has been too long! So for all of you heading somewhere tropical, tell me all about it so I can live vicariously through you! For those of you in the same boat as me, try making yourself one of my favorite drink recipes! It's called a Malibu Bay Breeze (not to be confused with a bay breeze which uses vodka instead of rum).

1 1/2 oz Malibu Rum
2 oz Cranberry Juice
2 oz Pineapple Juice

It's fruity and tropical! You can even cut up some pineapple chunks and put them on a skewer to add to the fun! Then put a little Bob Marley on and your set for your own little spring break! Have a great weekend!

I left my heart in Pittsburgh

This week has been busy, busy, busy! Friday marks the start of spring break pour moi and I am so excited! I have been working hard cleaning out my closet. It took me 2 hours to clean out my drawers and closet and under my bed because I had every inch packed with clothing! I decided to take many things back to Pittsburgh with me because hopefully by the time I return to Virginia it will a stay in the mid to upper 50's and soon enough it will be sundress weather everyday!! As usual, classes are right in the thick of midterms this week which can be a drag but one of my midterms was so much fun! We were instructed to give an oral presentation about something we are passionate about and in 7-9 minutes present it to our classmates. Well I chose Pittsburgh because I wanted to share with my classmates (who are mostly all from Virginia) why I think Pittsburgh is such a wonderful place to live. I have also decided to share with I love Pittsburgh with all of my readers too! So here are some great facts that you may not have known!-Pittsburgh was ranked the #1 most livable city in the United States and 29th in the nation (by The Economist)
-The unemployment rate is half of the national unemployment rate
-44 universities and 88 neighborhoods to choose from
- Within 500 miles of half of the U.S. population
- Lowest crime rate of the 25 major U.S. cities
- Home to some of the top hospitals in the world (1st heart transplant and multi-organ transplant was done here!)
- Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Kennywood Park, Primanti Brothers, The Steelers, The Penguins, and the Pirates!

I hope you enjoyed these fun facts about where I live! It's no longer just a steel city! Have a fabulous day!!
Yours,
sCe
