Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.

Bathing Suit Cover-ups

I love bathing suit cover-ups. Like the saying goes "I need one like I need a hole in my head". I have a vast collection of many different styles, colors, and cuts and I can't say I even have a favorite! Some I wear because they match the bathing suit that I am wearing, and some I wear depending on where I am planning to bronzer (my current french course is finally paying off!). Since I can't fit anymore bathing suit cover-ups in my closet, I am hoping I will inspire one of my readers to purchase one so I can live vicariously through you! Here are some options that I am loving and if I could come up with a really good reason, I would purchase them all!Fred Flare Drawstring Beach Jumper $64- Fred Flare usually has extremely odd things on their website so I often peruse their website with no intentions of purchasing, but I often times find myself finding one or two things that are worth purchasing. This is definitely one of them. It's not the usual style for a beach cover-up and the blue hue would look great with a tan!Nordstrom: Echo -$24 ON SALE- Now this may just have to be purchased. Who can't pass up a classic nautical striped cover up that is also a bit trendy because of the one shoulder look!

Marc by Marc Jacobs $248- Usually I'm not into overly trendy, especially when it comes to a swimsuit cover up. But just picture yourself in this cover up while walking to the pool bar in a swanky hotel/resort in Miami. I think the added belt with the interlocking "fish" add to the adorable factor in this piece plus you are being trendy but not flashy or skimpy in any way!
Diane von Furstenberg Zoe $260- Another favorite from Bloomies. The bright colors are remind me of South America. It looks like something that would blend in in Brazil! These bright colors would also work well with your freshly bronzed skin! I also love this one because it looks enough like a dress that you could wear it into a casual restaurant for a quick bite to eat without looking ridiculous.
Do you have any favorite cover ups? Where did you get them? Have a fabulous day!!

Preppy Vino

This past summer while browsing the internet, I came across Little Barrel. I thought it was a neat company and bookmarked it but haven't come back to it until today. I thought I would share this site with all of you because I would consider it something along the lines of Vineyard Vines drunk. I know that sounds crazy, but everything on their website is wine themed but they have tote bags that look almost identical to VV and headbands and belts as well. Their story on their website is adorable too. They wanted to give out a wedding favor that was related to wine but they couldn't find anything they loved so they made it themselves! Here are some pictures from their website of the lovely things they have to offer!
Have you ever heard of this brand? I think this is a really neat idea and would make the absolute perfect gift for a wine enthusiast! Have a fabulous day!

Preppy Beach Towel!

I saw this beach towel on Lands End's website and I just had to share it with you all! It's only $17.50 and with spring break right around the corner, who wouldn't want to show off this towel! The picture quality is terrible for some reason but they have the pink and green color combination which I love! They also have a pale pink and navy combo and a navy and pale yellow combo. I have to say surprisingly the navy/yellow combo is my favorite! Have you ordered one of these towels? If so, let me know! I'm anxious to see if they hold up well! Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Canvas

I just recently ordered a few things from Lands End (I love what I purchased and can't wait to show them off in an outfit of the day post!), and while browsing through the website, I noticed a new tab. It looks like Lands End has a new line called "Canvas". Well I just had to click, and I am so pleased I did! Their new line is fabulous. It's casual and classic staples with a little bit of a modern twist. It reminds me somewhat of J.Crew/Madewell or JC Penney's line American Living. I cannot wait to order some things from this line; hopefully it will not disappoint! Here are a few of my faves:
LOVE this dress. It almost looks like something from J.Crew and for a fraction of the cost! This yellow hue is sure to brighten even the dreariest day! For $79.50 you just can't be that price!

I definitely suggest checking out Canvas. I promise you will not be disappointed! Have a fabulous day!

Dinner Party Music

With Valentines Day coming up, and spring just around the corner (hopefully!) there are many dinner parties to be had! With dinner parties comes much stress for the hostess. Of course, music is one of the last things to think of. I do love the pre-made CDs for dinner parties such as "Dinner at Eight" but I really like to have my own mix of songs. I am an old soul when it comes to music. Frank Sinatra is my go to for dinner parties, but to add a little variety and to please all musical tastes, I add variations. Here is my list of dinner party songs. Check them out! and feel free to share your dinner party favorites!

1. Every Step of the Way- David Benoit
2. Come Away With Me- Nora Jones
3. Come Fly With Me- Michael Buble
4. Unforgettable- Nat King Cole
5. The Way You Look Tonight- Rod Stewart
6. Celebrate Me Home- Kenny Loggins
7. Change the World- Eric Clapton
8. Beyond the Sea- Robbie Williams
9. Wonderful Tonight- Eric Clapton
10. Trois Gymnopedies: Gymnopedie No.1- Frank Glazer
11. Life In Technicolor- Coldplay
12. I Left My Heart In San Francisco- Tony Bennett
13. Summer Wind- Frank Sinatra (the reason for my blog title!)
14. Take 5- Dave Brubeck
15. I'll Be Seeing You- Billie Holiday
16. Neon- John Mayer

Enjoy!

Valentines Day Pour Homme

If your like me, you appreciate Valentines for what it's about, but the commercialism of the holiday has ruined the romanticism of it all. So I am not one to go all out for one day out of the year just because it is declared as a day of love. But I do love celebrating just a little! Who can resist pink cupcakes and cute love letters! Here are some things pour homme that I think make Valentines Day extra special without breaking the bank!Southern Tide Skipjack Mini hat $20. I love a guy with a hat in the summer, I love the white version of this hat and for $20, why not? Southern Proper has a similar hat for $25, but for some reason the little blue fist appeals more to me!When all else fails, I turn to Brooks Brothers. They are reliable, you know they have impeccable quality, anything you purchase from them will arrive on time, and your guy of the moment (or let's hope longer!) will be sure to love it. Plus like some brands, Brooks Brothers bow ties are only around $50, which is a pretty good price in my eyes! And for the "fratty" man in your life, the good ol' engraved flask will be sure to please him. You can get the one picture from Things Remembered for just $30.
I'm loving Orvis's watch box. It's perfect. Personalized, check. Quality, check. Tasteful, check. Great price ($50), check. I'm thinking even I'd love one of these.I'm not exactly an advocate of cigar smoking or any type of tobacco use, but some men enjoy a cigar every once and a while, so why not get him a cigar humidor. The one above is from redenvelope and is only $50.I just love this idea of his and her keychains. Put them together and they make a heart. Take them apart and they are bottle openers. Are they trying to tell us something? I think yes. $30.

What are you getting your valentine for the special day? I'd love to hear about it, I'm always looking for new ideas! Have a great day!

sCe

Snow, and other pretty things!

If you have not been under a rock this past weekend, you are sure to already know that the east coast got hit with a massive snowstorm. Washington, D.C. was without power, even Pittsburgh was without power! So I have been enjoying my snowed in weekend here in good old Virginia. While doing that, I came across Frey Wille in a magazine and I am in love! Their jewelry is so colorful it adds a pop to any outfit! I have never heard of this jewelry before and was just so excited to share my find with you all. Unfortunately, the piece I have my eye on is a little on the pricey side (try $3000 pricey). It is the Spinx Watch-Round. So pretty and colorful! If you have not checked this site out, go on over and feast your eyes on a rainbow of pretty colors and shiny metals! Have a fabulous day!

Tervis Tumbler Review!

I received my Tervis Tumbler some time last week and just couldn't wait to share my love for it with you all! I was hesitant at first, because it is a see through cup, which I thought may be weird but I don't mind it at all because it is the absolute perfect cup for any hot beverage! So far I have had tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in it along with cold drinks such as diet coke and pellegrino. If you do not have one, I definitely recommend it. Sorry about the picture quality, I took it with my phone! The only downside is that they didn't offer a pale pink monogram to match the lid/didn't offer a hot pink lid to match the monogram so that is why there are two different pinks! (I am not affiliated with Tervis Tumbler, and was not compensated to do any review of this product) I hope you all are having a fabulous week.

Eye Candy: Tibi Dresses

By now I'm sure you've realized that I took a week's vacation from blogging. I have been super busy with my sorority duties, and my schoolwork so to keep myself from having a little break down, I decided I would take a "vacation" from blogging! I hope you all didn't miss me too much! I also MUST share with you these fabulous dresses from Tibi.. when I did come across down time this week, I was drooling over all of these fabulous dresses which would be perfect for a Valentines Day dinner!Beaded One-shoulder Dress
Sometimes the one shoulder dress can look tacky or too trendy, but Tibi makes the one shoulder cut look fabulous and classy!
Lace Shift Dress
I love the classic shift cut of this dress, but I also love the not too shiny metallic look. It's often hard to find a metallic dress that is not tacky or too gaudy.
Pleated Scoopneck Dress
I am LOVING this shade of pink. I also love that you can get away wearing this color during the winter because the fabric is appropriate for the season.Ragtime Gem Dress
Love love love this one! I usually don't like orange all by itself but this dress is just fabulous. I am in love with the circle back and the flattering cut of this tunic. This could definitely be dressed up or dressed down for any occassion.
Bora Bora Silk Dress
I love the royal blue detailing on this dress. It adds an almost nautical feel to the dress. Although this is a summertime only dress, I still think it would be a show stopper for any summertime occassion!

I hope you enjoyed the fabulous dresses, and have a great monday!
Yours,
sCe
